Redneck Plays In The Snow News At 11

Snow Art Writing your name in the snow isn’t just for boys anymore!

I’ve been missing in action for a while now. With work piling up faster than I could get it done I was seriously stressed the hell out. When Daddy-o asked if I would drive him up to Chicago to help out my uncle I jumped on the chance.

To say it was cold would be an understatement! We went up during a week when January decided that -25 degrees below zero would be the normal temperature for the week.

Never the less I had a blast. I spent a few days with Daddy-o up at the uncle’s house in Waukegan then headed out the 1st chance I got to Indiana for my big brother’s house.

We spent a large part of our time together fabricating his new chopper frame. I should say he did the welding while I did the suggestion making and every once in a while I helped hold tubing while he made the tack welds. Bossy? Who me? Nah someone has to supervise from the bar stools in the peanut gallery while someone does the work might as well be me.

At home in hick-ville pizza delivery is an unheard of event. While I was up north I did my best to eat my weight in traditional Chicago style pizza but fell slightly short. I did manage to talk them all into pizza 3 nights while I was up for the week.

All in all it was a great trip! I was extremely sad to head back home. Leaving was made even harder when Mike pointed out the house across the street from him was for sale. He was half kidding half excited when he told me the house started off at $80k and now was down to around $40k. Oh how I would have loved to moved in right across the street from him. Ahh one day we will all retire to Florida together until then I’ll just be thankful for the visits we have in between.

I did manage to come home refreshed and ready to tackle the world again. My only regret is that I can’t some how magically merge our worlds and always be only a few minutes from him.
