Ya know I knew when I signed up for the job that being a parent was going to take a LOT of time and money. What I didn’t know was that I would be buying the same damn thing over and over again until I was left so broke that rolling change might be a reality one day..
Midget got new glasses last week. They were finally ready and while in the area I stopped by to pick them up yesterday. He was so excited to get them in his hot little hands. Having lost the last pair a few weeks ago and having to wait to get an appointment with his doctor and all etc it felt like it took forever.
Today the little shit wore them to school. Had them on the school bus and then promptly lost them some where between boarding and getting off the damn bus!
We spent the afternoon chasing the bus down hunting through it with no luck. Then we walked the path he takes from bus door to front door a few hours still no luck!
I gave them to him last night about 8pm so he was the owner of a brand new shiny pair of glasses till 4pm today roughly 20 hours. Wow that $300 sure the hell went fast!
I’m so tired of replacing his glasses!! We go through several pairs a year because he loses them, he leaves them on the back of the four-wheeler, he took them off to play football and can’t remember where he set them. I’m so pissed I’ve hardly said a word to him.
I want just once for him to realize I’m not his grandpa money doesn’t fall out of my ass when I sneeze.
Monday morning I am calling his eye doctor and asking about contacts. The kid has wanted them forever and I just thought he was too young. But now I’m ready to spend the money to have them in his eyes 24/7 with exception of cleaning etc so I know I won’t have to buy them again in two days. He honestly doesn’t try to lose them I know that for a fact he just sucks at listening to anyone tell him don’t let them hang off your shirt. He dangles them from the neck of his t-shirts instead of putting them in the case.
Any contact ppl out there? Are they hard to wear? Hard to get in and out of the eye? Do you still clean them every day and keep the same pair for a while or are they disposable only? Damn the questions..

Update!!!
We found his glasses..
One of the Midget’s friends who rides the bus with him found them after midget got off. This morning he gave them to him on the bus ride to school. I’m so HAPPY! I did call the eye doc but after talking with him decided that contacts for my so not responsible 12yr was not a great idea after all.
So Yay no unexpected $300 out of pocket expense this week for new glasses..
