Like many of our posts Katy and I share on our blogs we touch on issues we’ve already gone back and forth discussing for days. If you count all our bitching more like several weeks sometimes depending on the topic before we even get around to blogging it.. LoL
Paypal Sucks - Here Is A Tiny Piece Of My Mind Regarding
What kills me about paypal as Katy pointed out in her post is the very thing that we all work so damn hard for. Identity branding is the single most important part of a company. In my mind it takes place neck and neck with quality product. But I’ve come to learn that even if your product sucks, your customer service stinks, and ppl hate you in the end the most important push to get their business is branding.
Give the customer something they can identify with and feel all warm and fuzzy by being able to say hey I know that name.. They will gladly fork over their money. To me it’s nothing but false sense of security at it’s worst when we think of paypal. What pisses me off even worse is that unlike a normal merchant account ppl have like what seems to be a limitless amount of time to decide hey I want my money back. Even if they have the product {hands on} or {online download format} even if they were happy when they got it and handed over the money. You would think by following the rules and TOS of paypal that you covered your butt. You provided something for payment made sure the customer was happy and then poof at the slightest wind blowing a hair up their ass they can get their funds back and keep your product.
Other players have been in the field for years against paypal. To name a few alternatives 2Checkout and Authorize.net. However if you ask 9/10 ppl they will proudly tell you I only pay with paypal online. They are sucked into that fast, easier, secure way to pay. What they don’t know or maybe they do and that’s why they use it is paypal is all about the buyer protection for most cases. Seller be damned even if you follow policy you’re screwed if there is an issue of even the smallest proportions.
In today’s online world even with paypal alternatives you have to accept what the customer is using to pay with. Without being able to allow your customers to pay in the form of payment they wish you are just asking for failure. My thoughts are what about the major companies in the market whom do not accept paypal? For example target.com sears.com walmart.com jcpenny.com hottopic.com they do not accept paypal but no one throws a fit because they have to enter their oh so precious credit card details directly on the site. Sure those sites have SSL certificates with site encryption to scramble and protect the customers entered details you say that’s the difference.. Hell no it’s not the difference I say! My company site not unlike many sites fork out the cash to purchase the SSL certificates to allow our customers piece of mind that their details are safe.
In the years that my company has accepted online payments we have never had one single issue of information insecurity. Do you honestly believe paypal can say that? Hell no they can’t!!!!
Focker you paypal! I hope you really enjoyed all the lovely money you made off of me over the years as an additional payment option for my customers. I can now proudly say that paypal is no longer an acceptable method of payment for my main business site. You can kiss my sweet rose smelling, shiny, smooth ass directly on my lovely nectar filled, my shit don’t stink, all seeing, all knowing, brown eye!
Now until the rest of the online world catches up with the horror stories that become innocent paypal users I will still gladly accept payments for my other business ventures by paypal. For those ventures which consist of small amounts of money I will most certainly pay the fees to accept paypal and happily choke down the shit that paypal TOS makes me. After all a $20 loss is much easier to swallow than say $1k+ transactions which will now only be processed using my new handy dandy merchant account and kick ass card terminal. Ha tuck that in your ass paypal and eat it up. You’ll be rich in no time taking your tiny fees from my $3 - $20 some odd dollar transactions.
To my readers I apologize for the extremely long rant but Katy started it on her blog. Blame her for my written tantrum.. LoL

Ha Ha, you nerd. You totally started it and you know it. You’re the one that brought up PayPal sucks on the phone… I just blogged it first.
Hey, wait… I think we forgot to mention that PayPal sucks!
