As many of you know I have a mouth like a sailor and the sense of humor of a dirty gutter slut.

However I’ve learned that what is appropriate for my blog and personal conversations is not always proper business behavior. My true sense of humor and foul language have absolutely no place in my field of business.

As much as I would love to call someone a stupid fucking moron I restrain myself and conduct myself with professionalism. It’s hard I admit it but I always hear that nagging little voice in my head saying, “remember you’re better than them conduct yourself like you would want to be treated” or some other version of “be professional until you have to be an ass”. At that point I usually tell that little voice in my head, “shut the fuck up Katy I’m trying to be an ass here and you’re not helping.” I hang up the phone with Katy and then calmly reply to the stupidest people on the planet in a professional manner.

Someone please tell me am I not the only person that feels when dealing in a business situation you should leave your dry humor and never ending string of obscenities far out of reach from public view?

Google FREE Directory Assistance

Google now offers FREE directory assistance service.

What a life saver this will be for my Dad. My dad is a mega-tightwad who hates digging around for the phone book. He’d call directory assistance 20+ times a day if he wasn’t so cheap. Currently half of his monthly phone bill goes to directory assistance charges.

He will get his new bill in the mail and promptly freak out over the fees he was charged for 411 calls the previous month. Then in an attempt to lower his phone bill cost he will make a vow to call me on a never ending cycle to “Google” the numbers he needs instead of paying for the operator to look them up. He tries his best to stick with it too! Daddy-o will call me a million times for this number or that number by the second week of the new month he is so getting on my nerves that I stop answering the phone. He then falls back into the old cycle of dialing 411 and we rinse later repeat the process again next month.
